THE GOOD CASHMERE STANDARD

THE GOOD CASHMERE STANDARD® BY ABTF was founded in 2019 by the Aid by Trade Foundation (ABTF). The goal of the standard is to ensure the humane treatment of the animals, protection of the environment, and improved working conditions for the farmers and farmworkers. It was developed in close coordination with animal welfare specialists and independent experts in the production of cashmere.

COTTON MADE IN AFRICA

COTTON MADE IN AFRICA is a globally leading standard for sustainable cotton and has advocated for better working and living conditions for African smallscale farmers and their families as well as for environmental protection since 2005. Those who would like to use the label pay a licensing fee.

The license revenue is reinvested in cotton growing regions and is used locally for the protection of the environment and for the benefit of the farmers and cotton-ginning workers. What’s more, CMIA cotton has a significantly superior ecological footprint; only a single liter of water is needed to produce each kilogram of cotton, as opposed to 2,120. In addition, greenhouse gas emissions are 40 % lower than in conventional cotton cultivation.

Fur Free

Animals have feelings and are worthy of protection.
Respecting their well-being and preserving their diversity is an important and necessary concern for us.
With this in mind, we have been an official signatory of the international Fur Free Retailer-Program since 2015, which is represented in Germany by the animal welfare organization ”Vier Pfoten” (Four Paws).
